Exercícios sobre possessive adjectives - Ensino médio e vestibulares

my: meu, minha, meus, minhas 
your: teu, tua, teus, tuas, seu, sua, seus, suas 
his: dele, seu, sua, seus, suas 
her: dela, seu, sua, seus, suas 
its: dele, dela, seu, sua, seus, suas (coisa ou animal) 
our: nosso, nossa, nossos, nossas 
their:  deles, delas, seu, sua, seus, suas (pessoas/animais/coisas) 

O possessive adjective concorda com o possuidor e não com o que ele possui. O possuidor não precisa ser, necessariamente, o sujeito da oração. Os principais equívocos dos alunos são:
> empregam its para animais e coisas no plural em vez de their.
> empregam your em lugar de his, her, their, fazendo associação com os pronomes possessivos seu (s), sua (s) em português.
> o possessivo correspondente aos pronomes indefinidos (anybody; everybody, nobody, somebody etc.) é their. Everyone lowered their voices.
